Redditch Specsavers has raised £450 during National Eye Health Week (19-25 September) in support of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
The store in Kingfisher Shopping Centre pledged to donate £1 from every sight test taken during the week to the RNIB, carrying out a grand total of 450 tests.
A word from the store director
Store director, Gurdeep Bansal, is thrilled with the result: ‘We can’t believe how much we were able to raise for RNIB. As well as raising money from the sight tests, we teamed up with the shopping centre to offer Redditch ReStyled and had a stall for customers to come and learn more about the charity. Our team offered frame styling advice to customers, while also explaining the importance of regular eye tests.
‘It is a great result and we are just delighted that we are to donate the money to a great cause. Being opticians, we see everyday how important it is to have a charity such as RNIB raising awareness of sight concerns. We urge our customers to book in for an eye test every two years. Eye tests don’t just tell us about your eye sight, they are a general health check and can pick up on a range of health concerns.’
