Regular eye tests should be a regular part of your healthcare routine and the Redcar store makes it easier than ever with seven-days-a-week opening.
The Castle Dene Shopping Centre store opened in 2001 and employs 16 members of staff with 90 years of optical experience between them. Charlie Allen is the longest serving member of staff having worked at the store since it opened.
Training future directors
Three team members are currently training as apprentices and store director Val Beaumont is keen to offer the opportunity to other young people in the area. With four test rooms the store’s optometrists can carry out nearly 900 eye tests every month. And when it comes to choosing their spectacles customers have a great choice of colours and styles of frames, with more than one thousand different types to choose from.
A word from the store director
Val Beaumont, director of Specsavers in Redcar, said: ‘We are really proud to be part of Redcar’s community. We have families who have been our customers for fifteen years, so we have watched them grow. Helping people understand the importance of eye health is a real priority for us and now we are open seven days a week it’s much easier for customers to come for an appointment at a time that’s convenient for them.
‘We’d like say thank you to all of our loyal customers for a fantastic 15 years of support – and we look forward to being of service for the next 15 and beyond!’
