Specsavers in Reading, Broad Street, has been presented with an Innovation in the Marketplace Award for leading the way in technology.
The award, the very first of its kind, was presented to store directors Don Watts and Ravi Bhardwaj at the ceremony on 16 September 2017.
The prestigious industry award recognises companies who are able to demonstrate successful implementation of change through innovation and technology.
The Reading store at Broad Street now uses iPads to help test customers’ eyesight, give insight on products and book new appointments.
Don Watts, store director of Reading, said: ‘I am delighted that Specsavers were awarded at the recent Reading Retail Awards. The team and I from the store attended the awards ceremony as we were sponsoring one of the categories, and winning was just a lovely surprise.
‘Customers have taken really well to the high-tech iPad system we now have in store, and we are honoured that the store has been recognised for its continued efforts.’
