Specsavers in Putney showed its support for World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March) by completing additional training to learn more about the condition.

Staff members have completed a course designed in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association, which will enable them to assist glaucoma sufferers in manging the condition, such as advising on how to effectively administer eye drops.

Serious condition

Glaucoma is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK, and Specsavers Putney is aiming to raise further awareness of the condition by backing World Glaucoma Week.

Sukveer Orjela, store director at Specsavers Putney, said: ‘Glaucoma is a serious eye condition that can be symptomless in the early stages, which is why we are supporting World Glaucoma Week and taking the extra training to ensure we can offer the best possible care to customers.’
