People in Pudsey will be celebrating the revamp of their local opticians on Saturday 20 June, at a fun-filled day packed with activities and a VIP appearance.
Specsavers on Lidgett Hill has invested almost £350K in order to enhance the facilities in-store, so that the team can meet the needs of a growing customer base in the local area.
To mark the re-launch, Hayley Jo, star of the recent Specsavers Zumba TV advert, will be spending the day in-store, getting the party going with a series of short Zumba workouts for anyone who wants to join in.
The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Judith Chapman, will cut the ribbon to officially open the revamped store, before taking a tour of the facilities and meeting customers and staff.
The new-look store is expanding on to a second floor. Relocating the lab to upstairs is part of a complete overhaul of the store’s layout, making space for two additional testing rooms and a series of departments designated for hearcare, dispensing, adjustments and contact lenses.
The lab has been designed to accommodate a brand new state-of-the-art NIDEK lens cutting machine, making Pudsey Specsavers only the second store in the country to boast such a machine.
Speaking about the project, James Pickersgill, store director at Specsavers in Pudsey, said: ‘The refitting and investment in the latest technology will allow us to deliver a standout service for even more customers in the local area. Everyone in store is really excited that the project is now complete, and we’ve welcomed four new team members so we can hit the ground running.’
Going from two to four testing rooms will mean the store can offer three clinics on a regular basis. More appointments will reduce wait times for customers, who will also benefit from a new pre-test area, in case they arrive early.
