Shoppers visiting Commercial Road in Portsmouth on Monday 19 March were treated to an eye-catching performance from the Dancing Grannies troupe organised by their local Specsavers store.
The elderly trio delighted locals by strutting their stuff to a collection of pop hits on the high street and outside the Specsavers store in Portsmouth.
Staff from the opticians were also on hand to offer free eye test vouchers to passers-by on the day.
Dancing in the streets
The activity by Specsavers Portsmouth was used to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining eye health and having regular eye checks. The team has also been supporting World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March), with staff members completing additional training in order to provide greater levels of care to people suffering with the condition.
Julia Moulton, store director at Specsavers Portsmouth, says: ‘The Dancing Grannies were great fun and went down a treat with the local community. We wanted to put a smile on people’s faces while also letting the community know about the importance of getting their vision regularly checked.
'If you haven’t had your eyes tested in a while, now is the perfect time to book an appointment with us.’
