Michelle Robins is store manager at Specsavers Portslade on Boundary Road.
How long have you worked for Specsavers?
I have worked in optics for six years now, and have been with Specsavers for two years. I was at the Bognor Regis store and joined the new Portslade store as manager when it opened in May.
I was excited to join Specsavers because they are the leading brand on the market and because they are really committed to doing everything they do well – from keeping people healthy to offering a great range of affordable glasses – while offering fantastic customer service.
What do you do in your spare time?
I have a dog, so really enjoy dog walks. I am also into paddle boarding.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love the diversity. Although making sure our customers have a great experience with us is my main responsibility, I get to do lots of different things.
And I love the customers themselves. They are all really different but equally interesting and make my job really enjoyable.
What is the biggest challenge?
Time. We think we do a really good job in store – and our customers seem to agree – but with more time we think we could do even better.
If you could have anyone come into the store for an eye test, who would it be?
The singer Pink – I really like her music.
