Caring customers visiting Specsavers in Portishead have helped raise £147 in support of Guide Dogs.
The team was joined by 11-year-old guide dog, Wayne, and Bianca, a 19-week-old puppy on Friday (9 October). As well as learning more about the work of Guide Dogs in the local community, customers were also invited to enjoy a tasty treat as staff served up an array of cakes throughout the day.
A colourful campaign
‘It was fantastic to have two guide dogs in store for our fundraising day and the whole team really got into the spirit of this year’s Let’s Glow theme,’ said Nic Johns, store director. ‘Guide Dogs does great work locally, as well as across the country, so every donation really does help.’
Guide Dogs Week is an annual fundraising and awareness building campaign which ran between 3 – 11 October. This year, Guide Dogs asked people to show their support by wearing neon colours, while raising money to support the charity’s ongoing work in communities across the UK.
