The team at Specsavers in Portishead put road safety in the frame on Saturday (15 August) as they attended the Neighbourhood Policing Team’s community event.
Staff were on hand throughout the day to offer visitors free vision screening – a simple distance vision check to enable visitors to quickly find out if they have the required standard of vision to drive.
‘We’re really pleased to have supported the local policing team with their road safety event,’ says Nic Johns, store director at Specsavers in Portishead. ‘The vision screener was a great way for us to tell if people met the required standard, or if they required a full sight test.
Whether you’re a driver, cyclist or pedestrian, it’s important to get your sight checked at least every two years as part of a full health check.’
The Portishead Neighbourhood Policing Team’s road safety event aimed to tackle road safety issues and anti-social behaviour – including speeding and mobile phone usage – that affects the community.
