Specsavers in Porthcawl hosted a fun-filled children’s day, to make a trip to the opticians entertaining for little ones.
A face painter came into the specially decorated store, which is located on John Street, to entertain the children while they waited for their eye examinations. Members of the Specsavers team also had their faces painted.
There was a variety of sweet treats available in store, including sweets and cakes, for children and their families to enjoy. And all of the children who visited the store had a Specsavers goody bag, which contained a free eye test voucher for parents as well as Disney stickers and balloons.
Claire Edwards, store director at Specsavers in Porthcawl, said: ‘It’s really important for children to have a positive outlook about coming to the opticians, which we realise can sometimes seem to be quite daunting, especially if someone is having an eye test for the first time.
‘Creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere aimed to show some of the youngest members of our community that visiting the opticians can be fun, and also helped the children to understand the importance of having regular sight tests from a young age.’
