Specsavers in Pontypridd has won a prestigious business accreditation for its dedication to ongoing development of its staff.

Already committed to providing high standards of clinical expertise to its customers, Specsavers in Pontypridd has also proved how well it looks after its staff as it has been named a ‘Platinum Employer’.

The Taff Street store has been awarded Specsavers’ externally-ratified Platinum Employer status. Devised and judged by employee engagement specialist, the Hay Group, Platinum Employer is tailor-made for optical and audiology retail businesses and sets high standards to be met across staff wellbeing and career development.

The rigorous assessment process requires evidence that a number of policies and procedures are in place and also includes interviews with staff, from optical assistants to directors. The Pontypridd opticians scored highly across the scheme’s five standards, which include learning and development, performance management and reward, and employee communications and engagement.
