Specsavers in Pocklington is hoping to raise a record breaking amount of money for Comic Relief ahead of this year’s Red Nose Day.
The Pocklington store will be hosting a week-long programme of fun activities and competitions starting on Monday 20 March.
The team will kick-start their fundraising efforts with a children’s design-your-own-nose colouring competition, with a children’s birthday party for 10 at Blue Sky Day Nursery on offer as first prize.
Other activities planned for the weekend include a name the bear competition, a local pub quiz night, guess the number of sweets in the jar and guess the secret ingredient in a cake competitions.

Winners will be revealed and prizes handed out at the store on Market Place on Sunday 26 March.
Robert Winlow, store director at Specsavers in Pocklington, said: ‘The team is excited to get stuck in to fundraising for Comic Relief this year and we are hoping to raise more money than ever.
‘Our colouring competition templates are available in store now and we’ve got some great prizes on offer, so we’re encouraging the people of Pocklington to stop by, get involved and donate to charity!’
Specsavers in Pocklington is also now selling special comedy waving hand glasses, priced at just £2, with all money raised from sales of the specs going to Comic Relief.
