Staff at Specsavers in Petersfield have been taking on extra training the help them develop their understanding about glaucoma.

Team members from the store have completed a course developed in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association (IGA), which will enable them to provide further care for people suffering from the condition.

In addition, Specsavers Petersfield is lending its support to World Glaucoma Week this month (11-18 March), an initiative designed to raise awareness of the condition that is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK.

A word from the store director

Jo Cox, store director at Specsavers Petersfield, said: ‘Glaucoma is a difficult condition to spot, which is why it is important to have regular eye tests so it can be picked up from an early stage. The extra training we have received will ensure we are offering the best care to people suffering with glaucoma.’
