Specsavers in Petersfield is helping to make this festive season a little bit brighter for their local community by officially turning on the town’s Christmas lights last month.
The business was one of the main sponsors of the seasonal event held at Petersfield town centre on Friday 24 November, with ophthalmic director Shilpan Shah given the honour of switching on the Christmas lights alongside Petersfield Mayor Cllr Jamie Matthews.
In addition, members of the Specsavers Petersfield team were on hand throughout the event to give out goody bags to residents and visitors, which were filled with free glasses cases, eye test vouchers and other gifts.
Keep on giving
Jo Cox, store director at Specsavers Petersfield, said: ‘It was a great honour for the store to officially switch on the Christmas lights for the town this year. The whole team had a lot of fun at the event and we handed out plenty of goody bags to people on the night. It was great way to bring some cheer to the community who support us on a daily basis.’
A Petersfield Town Council spokesperson said: ‘Petersfield Town Council and their Mayor Cllr Jamie Matthews would like to thanks Specsavers Petersfield for being the joint sponsor for the switching on of Petersfield Lights this year, marking the beginning of the Petersfield Town celebrations of Christmas.
'As with all our past sponsors, it is a delight to welcome Specsavers to the ever growing list, and it is great to know that businesses in the town support their local community in ways like this.’
