Spring may just be just around the corner but, with the recent spate of harsh winter weather, many people’s eyes have been put under additional strain in the last few months.
A combination of cold winds and extra indoor heating can lead to eyes feeling dry, gritty and sore due to a lack of moisture in the air. Specsavers in Peterborough – Bridge Street is encouraging anyone feeling discomfort or are concerned about their vision to have their eyes checked this winter.
A word from the store director
Store director Chintu Patel says: ‘For anyone feeling like their eyes are dry during winter, we would advise reducing the setting on central heating and avoid sitting directly next to gas and electric heaters. Drinking plenty of water and using eye drops will also help to alleviate dry eyes.
‘We recommend everyone gets their vision checked at least once every two years, so now has never been a better time to book an eye examination with your local optician.’
