The team at Pembroke Dock has raised £60 for the charity Brain Tumour Research thanks to the local community’s generosity.
Staff at the Dimond Street store wore colourful and distinctive hats in support of the charity’s Specsavers-sponsored ‘Wear A Hat Day’, encouraging donations in the process.
The money will support the charity’s continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours, which are the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in patients under the age of 40.
Ellie Thomas-Wigley, store director in Pembroke Dock says: ‘By wearing a hat for the day, a relatively simple gesture, we have raised money for an important cause. The hats also sparked conversations with our patients about the charity and the vital research it does.
‘We’re always grateful to the Pembroke Dock community for their generosity when we hold a fundraiser in store and this was no exception.’
