Pembroke Dock store directors, Ellie Thomas and Andrew Williams, are thanking six members of staff who went the extra mile to brave the snow and ensure the highest standards of customer service were met.
Kate Edwards, NHS administrator, Melanie Mcnaughton, clinic supervisor, Natalie Hiorns, store manager, Andrew Rodgers, lab technician, and Brien Hall, optometrist, opened the Pembroke Dock store during the bad weather to ensure that patients who were due to visit for sight tests, contact lens check-ups or to collect new glasses were called to have their appointments rearranged.
One patient who was visiting the store for an enhanced eye test, after experiencing problems with their eyes, was able to have their appointment because of the team’s commitment to open the opticians. It delivers enhanced eye tests through the Wales Eye Care Services (WECS) programme.
Customers at the heart of the store
Ellie says: ‘Andrew and I had no expectations of our staff coming to work during the inclement weather as staff safety is our priority. However, we were truly humbled by the team’s commitment to make sure that customers were contacted and appointments rearranged, where necessary.
‘We are very lucky to have such a dedicated, loyal and caring team who put our valued customers at the heart of everything we do for our community.’
