Palmers Green eyecare experts are championing Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the borough.
The team from Specsavers in Palmers Green will be fundraising for Breast Cancer Care from the Thursday 1 October until Saturday 10 October.
During the drive, team members will be decked out in their best pink finery collecting donations from the community, while £1 from every free eye test carried out in store will be donated to the charity.
A word from the store director
Jaswinder Singh Nagra, store director at Specsavers in Palmers Green, said: ‘One person is diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every ten minutes and for ten days this October we are going to do all we can to support those affected by this disease, which touches so many lives.
‘We are calling for the community to participate by having a free eye test and/or making a donation to the cause. Thank you in advance for your generosity and we hope you help us raise a fine sum for this worthwhile cause.’
More about the charity
Breast Cancer Care is the only UK wide charity providing care, information and support to people affected by breast cancer. Almost 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year, with one in eight women in the UK developing the disease in their lifetime.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, all funds raised for Breast Cancer Care will help provide specialist nurses, local services and vital emotional support networks for those affected by the disease.
Specsavers in Palmers Green is offering free eye tests throughout 2015 to all customers.
