The Paisley opticians has unveiled its new look store following its investment in a fifth test room. The store development allows an extra 60 eye examinations to be carried out each week and has also created three new jobs.

Launch celebrations
The make-over was revealed to customers with a series of launch celebrations. Special guests, Steven Thompson and Jason Naismith from St Mirren Football Club, joined the festivities to cut the ribbon to officially open the revamped store on Thursday 6 August.

This was followed by a launch party on Saturday 8 August in which local Zumba instructor, Debbie Maighan from The Lagoon Leisure Centre, was invited to the store alongside members of the Pace theatre group to recreate one of Specsavers’ popular TV adverts.

The humorous advert features a Zumba instructor mistaking a bingo hall full of pensioners for her class and teaching them the dance fitness moves instead.

Great honour
Gail Thompson, director of Specsavers in Paisley, said: ‘We are absolutely over the moon with the superb new look of the store. We first opened our doors 24 years ago and have been dedicated to ensuring we provide our customers with the best service ever since. Our latest investment represents our long term commitment to this.

It was a great honour to have players from our local football team, St Mirren, cut the ribbon, and all our staff thoroughly enjoyed our party. It was fantastic fun to recreate one of our well-loved adverts in store.’
