Staff at the opticians in Paisley and Barrhead are set to take part in this year’s Giffnock North Running Festival 10k.
Raising funds for Visibility Scotland
Eight members of the Specsavers team, including store director Gail Thompson, will be donning their running shoes to raise money for Visibility Scotland, which supports those who are visually impaired in the West of Scotland.
Some members of the team will be completing the five kilometre fun run with others set to challenge themselves in the 10k.
The opticians is part of a group of nine Specsavers stores in west that sponsor the festival which takes place in Rouken Glen Park on 9 June.
Their combined £3,000 investment will be used to provide race participants with finishers t-shirts, branded water bottles, clear specs cases as well as discount vouchers for glasses and a free contact lens trial.
Gail Thompson, director of Specsavers in Paisley and Barrhead, said: ‘All nine stores are delighted to be sponsoring the Giffnock North Running Festival for the fourth year running.
‘Last year Paisley and Barrhead raised over £100 for Blind Veterans UK through our participation in the festival. We’re hoping to top that figure this year.
‘Anyone who would like to support us can stop by either store to donate.’
