Specsavers in Otley recently donated a number of high-visibility vests to keep pupils from a local Beavers group safe when they are out and about.

The store donated the vests to the Otley Parish Beavers after launching a campaign to increase the safety of local children by making it easier for motorists to spot them when their activities take them into the community, or when they’re out on school trips.

Help increase safety of children on roads

Roger Copely, store director at Specsavers in Otley, said: 'At this time of year when the days are quite short, combined with the unpredictable weather, it can be difficult to keep track of a group of children on the move.

'With this in mind, we wanted to help increase the safety of children in the area and we were thrilled that the Otley Parish Beavers were happy to be a part of our safety campaign.'

The store currently has a number of high-visibility vests still available to local community groups and schools, which are free of charge on a first come, first serve basis. For anybody interested, please contact the store directly.
