Specsavers in Old Swan iscelebrating after all six of its staff achieved the Cert 3 qualification in optics and the store's lab technician passes the first year of his two year long professional lab technician course with flying colours.
Passing the Cert 3 qualification means staff will hold a deeper knowlege of optics beyond dispensing. They are able to spot more specific symptoms and advise on the level of care that is required to effectively treat that customer. The qualification also means staff will be able to give more specific advice on what sort of frames and lenses would best suit a customer's prescription.
Mike, the store's lab technician is also well on his way to further boosting his professional skills after he gained enviable results in the first year of his lab technician course, which he will complete in full next year.
Laura Mills, optical director, says: 'I'm delighted with the academic acheivements of the staff here at Old Swan. Its brilliant to watch everyone develop and grow their skills, all the time building on the excellent service they all provide. I'm looking forward to taking them all out to celebrate very soon!'
