A group of nursery school children in Oban have been given a batch of high visibility vests by their local Specsavers opticians, helping to keep them safer and more visible this summer.
The team from Specsavers in Oban donated 200 vests to pupils at Lochnell Nursery and School. The donation was made as part of Specsavers’ ongoing commitment to road safety, helping to increase the visibility of kids on the way to and from school, making it easier for motorists to spot them.
A word from the store director
Kenneth Macdonald, store director at Specsavers in Oban, said: ‘Staff were really keen to spread the road safety message in Oban, especially since the lighter mornings and nights and better weather will mean that children may be waking or cycling to school.
I’m so pleased we’ve been able to provide the reflective vests to make sure the boys and girls stand out to passing motorists on their journey. I look forward to seeing them sporting their vests around Oban whilst enjoying the summer weather.’
