A team of budding football stars will take to the pitch in style this season thanks to the support of Specsavers in Northampton.
The Roade Youth Under 11s football team has secured sponsorship from the store for the year, with the store providing branded kits for the sporting youngsters.
Store director Marinos Constantinides said: ‘We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Roade Football Club under 10s team this season. They are a talented group of young footballers and a great example for other children in the local area to get active and involved in sports.’
The junior team plays in the Northampton & District Youth Alliance League, the largest youth football league in Northamptonshire, most recently taking part in the annual Cobblers Cup at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium.
Team coaches George Wingrove and Adam Calcutt are grateful to Specsavers for supporting the team, which relies on sponsorship from local businesses. ‘The squad loves their brand new kit and feel proud to be representing the club and Specsavers on the field,’ George comments. ‘Our fantastic sponsors make all the difference and give the kids that extra motivation in matches.’
Adam said: ‘All of our players have been working hard in training sessions and matches, and we’ve gone from strength to strength. We’re looking forward to a successful season, boosted by stylish new shirts!’
Marinos added: ‘Our staff are big supporters of the team and we wish them the best of luck in all their upcoming games!’
