Specsavers in Northampton hosted a fun day and raised almost £600 for its nominated charity, the Dunstone Bennett Complementary Centre (DB Centre). The charity supports the needs of a person’s mind and body through their cancer journey, whether they are a sufferer, family member or carer.
The team greeted customers and passers-by with a cake sale, tombola and raffle with some excellent prizes, kindly donated by local businesses and friends of the store.
Store manager at Specsavers Northampton, Rebecca Wright, recently became a trustee for the DB Centre. ‘This cause is very close to my heart,’ said Rebecca. ‘After seeing first-hand the positivity that my dad gained through the centre, I wanted to give something back to this amazing cause.’
'Thank you to everyone who donated'
Store director, Marinos Constantinides, commented: ‘At Specsavers in Northampton, we understand the difficulties people and their families face with cancer, so supporting this charity is something we have all bought into.
‘We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated; thanks to the generosity of our lovely community here in Northampton, we’ve raised £700 so far this year and hope to reach £1,000 by the end of the year.’
Using therapies to positively support mind and body through the cancer journey, the DB Centre is available for anyone being treated at Northampton General Hospital, their loved ones and carers.
