Specsavers in Norris Green has been given donations of 1,000 unused glasses from its loyal customers, throughout 2017, and has thanked customers for getting behind the charity campaign to better the sight of people in Africa.
Vision Aid Overseas
Since 1985, Vision Aid Overseas has helped many people living in poverty across the globe be able to see clearer. The mission of the charity is to provide the chance for poorer people to access affordable glasses and eye care.
The glasses are collected and then are all recycled with the money made going towards providing optician services for developing countries. Customers and staff have donated a record number of glasses to help towards VAO’s work.
'Thank you to our customers'
Paul Stanway, store director at Norris Green, said: ‘Last year’s campaign was hugely successful thanks to the generosity of our customers and staff. Every donation matters.
‘In the UK we’re incredibly lucky to have the eye care facilities that we have and it’s important we do what we can to provide others with the same opportunity. The donations given and the work of Vision Aid Overseas really can change people’s lives for the better.’
