Specsavers have launched a new Spirit of Newtownabbey Award to reward a very special local person. The prize marks the Abbeycentre based store’s 15th year looking after the eye health and hearing of local customers and people.
Specsavers is looking for someone who could be a charity champion, a special carer, a dedicated community worker, a wonderful grandparent, a sports coach; all of whom bring happiness into the lives of those people they are in touch with.
People who inspire others
Store director Tony McGinn says: ‘Specsavers has supported the Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards for 8 years and I’ve been inspired and amazed by all those people who have shared their stories.
‘Through this award we want to spotlight our brilliant local people who are contributing so much to the Newtownabbey community.’
Nominations by 8pm 19 October
The awards initiative was announced in the current edition of In Touch magazine and nominations should be submitted to the Specsavers Abbeycentre store by 8pm on Thursday 19 October 2017.
If you know someone who deserves this recognition, simply detail their name, address and write or type up a short description as to why they stand out. Nominators are asked to also include their own contact details.
Trophy and designer specs for winner
The winner will be presented with a special crystal trophy and a pair of designer glasses while the person who nominated them will also collect their choice of designer specs.
