Abbeycentre Specsavers is supporting the annual Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice 5k Run Rabbit Run and mile-long Bunny Hop for the third year.
The family friendly event takes place on Sunday 25 March when over 500 people of all ages are expected to take part in the race.
The route winds its way round the picturesque Hazelbank Park on the shores on Belfast Lough in the heart of the Newtownabbey region.
The event is suitable for runners, joggers, walkers and wheelchair runners. It also offers a virtual entry where competitors can ‘run’ anywhere in the world and still receive a finisher’s medal.
Store director Tony McGinn said: ‘I’m delighted to support this fabulous event for all ages and abilities. Each year the atmosphere is wonderful as families and friends come together to challenge themselves but at the same time raise much needed cash for the children’s hospice.
‘Martina Toal who started the event back in 2014 as part of her fundraising target for the Hospice, has done a brilliant job founding a fun-filled event which attracts more participants year on year.’
