During October, Newry staff took on the challenge of walking the equivalent of the distance around Northern Ireland to raise much needed cash for their 2020 Charity of the Year – Action Mental Health.
Staff walked a total of 862 km
The team clocked up 862 km during the four-week period - the distance of Northern Ireland’s perimeter and generated more than £1170 for Action Mental Health.
Changing people’s lives
Action Mental Health changes the lives of people living with mental ill-health and promotes resilience and well-being to future generations. The organization helps smash the stigma of mental illness for all sections of the community.
The charity is multi-faceted and offers a wide range of services including its nine New Horizons programme available across Northern Ireland. It helps people benefit from a variety of personal development, vocational skills and employability training options including accredited qualifications and work placements. Other AMH services include therapeutic counselling for children, young people, adults and families, including services for the deaf community.
