The team at Newquay Specsavers wore something purple to work to show their support for the Epilepsy Society.
More than 500,000 people in the UK have epilepsy and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day*. Each year 1,000 people lose their lives due to epilepsy. This includes 600 who die of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
A word from the store director
Steve Morris, store director at Specsavers Newquay, said: ‘We wanted to fundraise for the Epilepsy Society because we know of people in the town who have benefited from the vital support that they can offer to those with the condition and their families.
‘All the money we raise for Epilepsy Society will help them to support people with epilepsy through research and important services such as their epilepsy helpline. Thank you to all the team at the store and customers for their involvement.’
