Specsavers New Malden director Dr Ahmed Sivardeen was honoured to be invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace hosted by Her Majesty the Queen this month.
Dr Sivardeen joined more than 7,500 guests at the prestigious event on 15 May, who were treated to refreshments and music performed by a military band.
Those in attendance included the Earl of Wessex Prince Edward, the Duke of York Prince Andrew and the Archbishop of Westminster Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
Dr Sivardeen received a personal invite to the garden party in recognition of his work caring for patients at his Specsavers New Malden store, and for his efforts to build relationships between Sri Lankan and British communities as chairman of the British Sri Lankan Association (BRISLA).
He said: ‘It was tremendous honour and privilege to be personally invited to join the Queen at Buckingham Palace. It was a wonderful day and it was a great opportunity to discuss the important work carried out by Specsavers and BRISLA with other distinguished guests.’
