Industry ambassador

Dr Ahmed Sivardeen, BSc(Hons) FCOptom DOptom FBCLA, has dedicated his professional life to optometry. His career trajectory began after his studies in optometry at Aston University and, twenty years on, he is now sole director of Specsavers at New Malden.

Dr Sivardeen is also chairman of the Local Optical Committee in Kingston, Richmond and Twickenham, a Fellow of the BCLA (British Contact Lens Association) and was recently awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the College of Optometrists, an acknowledgement of his commitment to the profession.

Dedicated to research

In addition to caring for the sight of local New Malden residents, Dr Sivardeen is committed to clinical research and is highly regarded by his peers for his commitment to the industry. One particular area of expertise is contact lenses, especially multifocal lenses, and his studies have resulted in numerous medical articles within leading international journals.

Charitable interests

Dr Sivardeen is also the president and chairman of the British Sri Lankan Association, an organisation that enhances and strengthens trade and diplomatic links between the two nations.
