Newlands' ophthalmic director, Ruth Lalor, featured in a Specsavers TV campaign which celebrated the real-life stories of customers and instore colleagues during lockdown.

The TV advert was aired in England from 13 June but is also available on the eye experts’ website and social media channels so that customers from across the UK and Ireland can also see some familiar faces.

Open for care
Throughout lockdown Specsavers was open for essential and emergency care and Ruth was been one of the key workers delivering prescription frames and helping local residents with eye health concerns via phone and video calls.

The 90-second film titled We Were There, tells the real-life stories of store colleagues, like Ruth, and customers experiences with Specsavers during lockdown when its doors were closed apart from offering urgent and essential care.

Ruth said: 'I'm really proud that we were open for care every single day during lockdown. We worked with our local pharmacies, GPs, and hospitals to provide the best care and reassurance for our patients for all of their eye care and hear care needs.'
