Three members of staff from Specsavers Newcastle-under-Lyme put their best feet forward as they took part in Stoke-on-Trent’s Race for Life event (10 June).

The team ran the 5km charity race around Trentham Gardens, raising more than £670 for Cancer Research UK between them.

Kimberley Andrews, diabetic photographer, ran with her step daughter Chloe in memory of her granddad Gordon, while Sam Johnson, optical assistant, and Joanne Grey, diabetic photographer, took on the challenge as both have family members who have been affected by cancer.

‘The whole store are very proud of the girls,’ said Debbie Fitzsimmons, store director.

‘Kimberly set herself the target of £50 but smashed it by raising more than £200, helping to boost the overall total to £670.’
