MND Scotland has received a donation of more than £620 after Damian Kelly – dispensing optician and lab manager – completed the Great Scottish Run half marathon.
Damian joined 22,000 other runners to complete the iconic Glasgow run earlier in the month. Running in memory of his late Aunt Mary,
Damian raised funds for MND Scotland to help raise awareness of the charity and the incredible work they do for people living with Motor Neurone Disease.
After losing his aunt last year, Damian set out to fundraise as much as possible, including hosting a car boot sale with team members from Specsavers Musselburgh.
Damian said: ‘I’m overwhelmed with the generosity and support of the team, friends, family and customers of the Musselburgh store which has helped us raise so much money and awareness for a really important cause.
‘It was my second half marathon and I managed to cross the finish line in under two hours, which I was delighted with. I’d like to thank everyone who donated and gave us that extra push. It’s a superb total for MND Scotland and I’m proud to support them.’
