Specsavers Musselburgh is helping to keep local children safer by donating high visibility vests to a primary school during of Road Safety Week (20-26 November).

Health week

Specsavers Musselburgh donated 185 children’s vests and 15 adult high vis vests to Burgh Primary School pupils and teachers during the school’s health week.

The donation is part of the store’s ongoing commitment to help local children stay safer on the streets by being clearly visible to motorists.

Importance of eye health

Store director Diana Kelly also spoke to the children about the importance of regular eye health checks, the biology of the eye and how vision works, as well as keeping safe on the darker nights.

Diana Kelly said: ‘We’re very pleased to have been able to supply Burgh Primary School with high vis vests and provide them with information on eye health.

‘It’s so important that we make young people aware of the need for regular eye health checks and that they learn about their eyes and how to look after them.’
