Specsavers in Musselburgh has sponsored a local children’s football festival for the sixth year running.
The kind-hearted store donated £1,000 to the Kenny Ritchie Festival of Football as part of the store’s commitment to grassroots sport.
The sponsorship was used towards the purchase of trophies and medals for the tournament, ensuring that each child involved received a keepsake.
The tournament, held in August, attracted nearly 750 boys and girls between the ages of six and eleven to the Pinkie Playing Fields, Musselburgh.
Dougie Hall, festival co-ordinator says: ‘We are delighted that Specsavers in Musselburgh has once again chosen to sponsor our festival.
‘The store has given its support to the tournament for the past five years which is a great boost to the local community.
‘The tournament is the biggest of its kind in the area, and the kids get so much out of it.
‘With the help of Specsavers in Musselburgh, we were able to ensure all those involved were rewarded for their efforts.’
Diana Kelly, director at Specsavers in Musselburgh, says: ‘It is a pleasure to sponsor the Kenny Ritchie Festival of Football once again.
‘Each year the festival grows and it gives our store a chance to get involved with the local community. Specsavers in Musselburgh is committed to helping grassroots sport in the area, and we hope that our partnership with the festival can continue in the future.’
