An opticians in Motherwell donated over £1,000 to charity in 2017.
Staff at the Specsavers store in Brandon Parade donated £1,009 to eight charities last year – and the big-hearted team is keen to raise money for good causes again in 2018.
Last year, in store events helped staff raise funds for Red Nose Day, Alzheimer Scotland, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) and Save the Children.
The team also took on a charity trek around Strathclyde Park wearing blindfolds and ear defenders to recreate conditions experienced by customers with sight and hearing problems – and the event raised more than £310 for Deaf Club Lanarkshire, Hope For Autism and Enable Scotland.
Ian Moss, store director at Specsavers in Motherwell, says: ‘We’re all very proud to have raised such a fantastic amount of money in total and to have supported such a great selection of charities.
‘We’re a big part of the community here in Motherwell and it’s very important to us to do everything we can to help people in need. We’ll be continuing our fundraising this year.
‘We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated at our in store events and sponsored staff on the walk around Strathclyde Park. Each and every donation is very much appreciated.’
