The team at Specsavers in Morley are thrilled to announce that their in-store fundraising for Comic Relief raised £91.22 for the charity.
Staff dressed in red on Friday 20 February and held a 'Crazy Wig Day' a week later, with help from the costume cupboard at Morley Amateur Operatic Society.
Friday 6 March was the date of the inaugural Morley Specsavers Comic Relief Bake-Off. Five members of staff baked different goodies, and customers and staff alike made a donation in return for the chance to sample the bakes and vote for their favourite. Tam Blake's Red-Nosed Chocolate Brownies went down as the favourite and she was crowned the winner.
Over the course of the month leading up to Red Nose Day, the team ran a competition to guess the number of sweets in a jar. The winner was C Breadmore who guessed 166 sweets - just two short of the exact figure!
A word of thanks
Sarah Plumpton, retail director at Specsavers in Morley, commented: 'We had a great time raising money for Comic Relief. The team did a great job to encourage donations over the four weeks and we're so grateful to our loyal customers who never let us down.'
