Staff at the opticians in Montrose have launched an appeal for locals to drop in to the High Street store to donate old stamps.
Specsavers in Montrose is supporting CLIC Sargent’s used stamps appeal.
All stamps collected will be sent to the charity to be sorted out by volunteers and sold to raise vital funds.
Supporting a great cause
One kilogram of stamps can help cover the cost of a family staying in one of the charity’s Homes from Home while their child undergoes treatment for cancer.
CLIC Sargent has ten Homes from Home locations across the UK, including two in Scotland. The homes are located close to principal treatment centres.
A word from the store director
Christopher Nugent, store director at Specsavers in Montrose, said: ‘CLIC Sargent offers fantastic practical and emotional support for families living with childhood cancer.
‘We are very proud to take part in the stamp initiative for a charity that is close to the hearts of many of our staff.
‘We would urge any customers who wish to hand in stamps to pop into the store. The stamps can be of any kind and even franked ones are accepted.
‘We’ve already received lots of donations and are keen to collect as many kilos as possible.’
