Monmouth customers were left with smiles on their faces thanks to an emoji-inspired face painting event, held for the children’s hospice, Tŷ Hafan.
Staff at Specsavers on Monnow Street raised £121.25 during the fundraising day, which also saw customers given the opportunity to design their own frames and encouraged those having their glasses repaired at the store to make a small donation towards the Sully-based charity.
Emily-Anne Frost, store director in Monmouth, said: ‘We have proudly supported Tŷ Hafan throughout the year and this event was another exciting way for us to engage with the community and raise funds for such a worthy cause.
‘It was a really fun day and great to see so many people getting involved and enjoying themselves.’
A good cause
Tŷ Hafan cares for life-limited children and young people, and provides vital support to their families, both within the hospice and through its community outreach programme.
Since its creation in 1999, Tŷ Hafan has provided support for 720 children (699 families) across Wales, of which 247 children are currently receiving help from the charity.
