The store have made a generous donation and put their rowing skills to the test to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Staff members Abigail Lewis, Lisa Jeffries, Jane Reed and Lucinda Kimberley-Cairney also took part in the Minehead RNLI Raft Race, alongside two enthusiastic customers. The team raft, dubbed ‘Should’ve gone to Specsavers’, was cheered on by their colleagues at the store who helped collect donations for the charity.
Off with a bang
The store donated £500 to sponsor the fireworks at the finale of the latest RNLI Harbour Fest Minehead. The annual two-day event, involving a popular amateur raft race, brings people together to celebrate the coastal town and raise money for the lifeboat charity.
Store director, Philippa Hales, said: ‘The Harbour Fest is one of our favourite local events of the year and the team are always keen to take part in the raft race. A few of us at the store, including myself, are RNLI volunteers and the service saves thousands of lives every year. It’s a cause we’re really passionate about supporting.’
