Minehead residents were asked to bring their old specs to Specsavers to help make a difference during National Eye Health Week (21-27 September).
Vision Aid Overseas
The store supports eyecare charity Vision Aid Overseas, which provides services to people in developing countries, and wanted to draw attention to their work over the awareness week. The charity recycles old specs and all proceeds go towards building vision centres and giving people access to eye treatment.
Specsavers Minehead store director Philippa Hales says: ‘It's vital we continue to support charities like Vision Aid Overseas who can help change lives with their work. National Eye Health Week was great opportunity to promote the charity, so we'd like to thank everyone who came and donated their old specs in store.’
