Specsavers Milton Keynes has helped children to stay safe this winter by making a special donation.
Visiting Two Mile Ash School
The team donated 700 high-visibility vests to children at Two Mile Ash School. Colleagues also held a talk about the eyes and visibility for the children and raised awareness of Road Safety Week (23-29 November), an initiative by Specsavers’ charity partner Brake. Wolverton Police was also in attendance to educate the children on road safety.
Keeping children safe on the roads
Steve Moore, retail director at Specsavers Milton Keynes, who visited the children says: ‘Now that the clocks have changed and the nights are getting darker, we want to ensure that children – and their parents – feel safe when they’re out and about over the next few months. By raising awareness during Road Safety Week and by offering the children these vests, we hope that they take extra care on trips and excursions.’
Head teacher, Sarah Bennett said: “We were delighted to welcome Specsavers and Wolverton Police to our school. Road safety and remaining visible in the dark is paramount for children and we are extremely grateful for the donation.”
