Two members of staff at the Milton Keynes store have received awards for coming top of the class in their latest professional qualifications.
Lab manager Michael Ward, 29, has won two awards in the SMC (Tech) exams for the highest marks out of his year group in both the theoretical and practical components of the qualification. Having previously worked as an optical assistant, Michael joined the team in September 2013 in his first role as a lab technician and has shown us all that he has found his niche.
Another member of the team who also shone in their exams is 27-year-old Matthew Jenkins. Matthew, who was recently promoted to assistant manager, has passed his final qualifying exams (FQE) as a dispensing optician. He won the Sue Southgate award for the highest mark in the communications exam, as well as receiving an award for the highest overall marks in the FQE’s.
The store supported Michael and Matthew in their professional development by sponsoring their studies at the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Manufacturers and the Association of British Dispensing Opticians respectively.
A word from the director
Store director, Steve Moore, said: ‘Michael and Matthew have both done a brilliant job over the past three years and we’re very proud to have such skilled team members. Their dedication to their studies has been admirable and these awards are well deserved.’
