Budding bakers from Specsavers in Melton Mowbray will be treating customers and passers-by to a delicious slice of cake as they take part in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
The team will be selling their best bakes to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a national charity that provides emotional, financial and medical support to cancer sufferers and their families.
Store director Marshall Bradley commented: ‘We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, so this is cause very close to our hearts. The work Macmillan does is so important, so we’re delighted to be raising money with the coffee morning. I’d like to encourage all our customers to visit us in store, enjoy a slice of delicious cake and help us to make a difference for people across the UK.’
The ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is Macmillan’s biggest annual fundraising event, raising £25 million last year alone. The charity invites people across the country to take part each year and host their own coffee mornings.
