The Specsavers team in Melksham is holding a pink-tastic fundraising day for Breast Cancer Care this Tuesday (14 October).
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the team will be donning pink t-shirts and dressing the store in an array of pink decorations to raise funds for the national charity.
Win a custom-made teddy
Customers who visit the store on Tuesday will be able to show their support by donating £1 to guess the name of a specially made teddy bear – which will also be dressed for the occasion in a pink tutu! There will be a selection of 50 names to choose from and the person who guesses correctly will take the cuddly friend home.
Enjoy some sweet treats
There will also be a selection of pink-themed cakes available for customers to enjoy in return for donations.
‘The whole team wanted to support this initiative as most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer,’ said Julie Burrage, store manager at Melksham. ‘There is of course a serious message behind what we’re doing, but we hope that customers stop by, have some fun and support this great cause.’
One in eight people will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, and Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to providing emotional and practical support for anyone affected. The charity campaigns for better support and care and promotes the importance of early detection, involving people with breast cancer in all that it does.
