Staff at Specsavers in Melksham showcased their baking skills on Friday 25 September and raised £136 for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The team at the store on Bank Street invited customers and passers-by to pop in for a coffee and a cake in return for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Store director, Martyn Thomas, said: ‘With some keen bakers among our staff, we were able to offer a tasty range of home-made cakes. A big thank you to everyone that came down and supported us.’
Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is the charity’s largest annual fundraising event, encouraging people to come together to enjoy a treat while raising money for the charity. Providing medical, emotional, practical and financial support, Macmillan is there for the more than 2.5 million cancer sufferers in the UK and their families.
