Members of staff at Specsavers in Market Harborough will welcome unlikely colleagues on Saturday 15 July, as rabbits, pigmy goats and lambs join them to raise funds for a national Alzheimer’s charity.
Farm animal favourites
Locals visiting the store will be able to enjoy a cute creature experience as the store plays host to a travelling petting zoo, featuring some farm-animal favourites.
The event is the latest fundraising fun day, and is part of the store’s ongoing support for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
‘This is an event that everyone can enjoy, and we’re all very much looking forward to it in store,’ said store director, Barry Henning. ‘So far we’ve raised more than £900 for Alzheimer’s Research UK and we’re hoping that this event will be equally successful.’
Lucky visitors will also be treated to carnival games and face painting, as well as a chance to win a family ticket to Twycross Zoo by taking part in a raffle for a charitable donation.

Barry continued: ‘Every penny that we collect on the day will go towards Alzheimer’s Research, helping this fantastic charity fund ground-breaking research to understand dementia and how to defeat it.
‘It’s all set to be a brilliant day with plenty to get involved with, and I’d like to encourage everyone in our local community to join us.
