The team at Specsavers Ludlow is celebrating two long-serving members of staff.
Specsavers on the Bull Ring has recognised the colleagues who have shown years of dedication to the store. With the store now open for routine testing, the team were able to congratulate store director, Nicola Aubrey, and supervisor, Bethan Edwards on ten years’ service.
‘It’s a great feeling to have been part of such a hardworking team for the last 10 years,’ said Nicola. ‘I started my career at Specsavers when I was 17 and after my degree, I did my pre-registration year with them. I also completed numerous qualifications whilst working for Specsavers including my Professional Certificate in Glaucoma, Professional Certificate in Medical Retina and I am currently in the process of completing my Independent Prescribing qualification.
‘Bethan was actually the first person I interviewed for the optical assistant role when I began my role as store director, so I’m so happy to be celebrating this milestone with her.’
Supervisor Bethan also celebrates a decade at the store. Having completed her Cert 3 and 4, she qualified as a dispensing optician in April 2019.
‘I started working at Specsavers as a trainee optical assistant,’ added Bethan. ‘Because I trained in store I’ve also learnt how to work in different roles, which has helped with my career progress. I really enjoy working with the team and can’t wait to see what the future holds.’
Two other members of the team at Ludlow are also celebrating a long service milestone.
Rebecca Lewis, dispensing optician and Leanne Stewardson, contact lens supervisor, are celebrating 13 years at the store. Leanne said: ‘I have enjoyed being part of a close-knit team all this time. We are so well supported and valued it makes it a pleasure to come to work which is why I've come back three times. I have made friends for life here.’
Rebecca added: ‘It has been a great to be involved in the journey of the store from the start. Qualifying as a Dispensing Optician has been one of my personal highlights. I couldn't have done this without the support of Nicola, Darren, Nialle and the rest of the team.’
